Excel: plus minus graph

This is just a very nice and simple one:


Here are the data, from A1:B7:

2012 0
2012 1
2012 -1
2012 2
2012 3
2012 4
2012 -3

  • format b1:b7 like this: 
"+";"-";""

which actually means:

+ above zero
- below zero
  zero
  • Now create the column graph.
  • Remove the X-axis
  • Format the Y-axis like this:
"plus";"minus";"zero"
  • add labels to the graph.
  • columns below zero should get a different color by using: Invert if negative.
  • change the minimum of the Y-axis to -5; and the maximum to 5.
  • change the Major Unit to 5 as well.
